Everyday life involves technology. Daily life is no longer simple. If one is not tech savvy, one may find it difficult to get through the day. In recent times, technology has reached a new level of advancement and is taking over everywhere, including the classroom. That's why San Angelo schools should incorporate more of it into the elementary grades. Technology is used for basic actions but can also make activities easier for students. Research shows that when technology is integrated into the classroom, students can benefit greatly. Technology should be integrated into the SAISD classroom for daily use. One problem teachers face is that they don't know how to use the technology available to them and are afraid. For example, in “A Teacher's Odyssey Through Resistance and Fear,” Mary, a social studies teacher, talks about her fear and “often expressed her concerns about her disinterest and inability to learn and use technology, punctuating his comments with stories of previous attempts that ended in dismal failures” (as cited in McNierney, 2004, p.66-85). This shows that teachers avoid teaching with technology because they fear it that she doesn't know how to use it properly. Mary doesn't want to use computers in her classroom because she doesn't know how to use it. She also fears that her tech-savvy students know more than she does and wouldn't benefit from her using computers in her classroom. Mary has. stated: “The most challenging [roadblock] is not teaching keyboard skills or importing images but overcoming emotional resistance” (as cited in McNierney, 2004, p.66-85). teacher to learn basic skills to help her integrate technology into her classroom. .... half of the article ......in this article I propose San Angelo to add new technologies to early childhood education.
