That Dinkum Thinkum is the first of three sections of the book Moon is a Tough Lover. It is set in Luna City at the end of the 21st century. Luna City is one of the colonies of the Moon, created as a permanent exile for the most difficult criminals. It is conceived as a permanent exile because after staying on the moon for about a month, without help, a physiology changes making it almost impossible to return to earth; So Luna's population is mostly made up of ex-convicts and descendants of ex-convicts in the dome cities.Mannuel Garcia O'kelly Davis, the main protagonist of Moon is a strict mistress, and is THE computer repairman of Luna sent to fix or check Mike (a superior Dinkum Thinkum, aka advanced Artificial Intelligence) for flaws. After speaking with Talking to Mike, Mannuel discovers that one of Mike's audio pickups has been turned off and promises him that he will record it. (This kicks off the story.)
