The primary mission of the social work profession is to improve human well-being and help meet the basic human needs of all people, with particular attention to the needs and empowerment of vulnerable, oppressed and people living in poverty. If this mission is not maintained, we as social workers are not fulfilling our sacred duty to the profession.
