I am a hard-working, responsible and friendly girl with a strong passion for pursuing a career in primary school teaching. I believe that to become an excellent teacher you need to have a desire to assist children in the learning process and this is a quality I feel I definitely possess. My initial interest in primary teaching arose whilst volunteering at a summer play program run by a local charity for children aged 0-8 during the 2009 summer holidays. I found it extremely rewarding to see the satisfied expression on a child's face as they completed a piece of art or took part in a group activity knowing that I had helped give the child the confidence and ability to do SO. Working closely with both children and parents greatly improved my confidence, and by the end of the play program I found myself singing the songs and participating in the games with as much enthusiasm as the children. Through my local primary school I was able to shadow a teacher of a mixed class of first and second year students for two days. I was able to help the children with individual reading, which I really enjoyed. I was patient and understanding as I listened to the children read and helped them with words they found difficult. I also took part in a math lesson where the children weighed different objects in class. I enjoyed having the responsibility of supervising children as they learned and interacting with different children. I had responsibility for a group of children during recess, where I had to entertain the children and maintain discipline. This experience gave me insight into managing a classroom and strengthened my desire to teach. In July 2008 I completed a week's work experience......halfway through an assignment......n A*e my school Outstanding Achievement Award in ICT. I took the subject to A level, achieving an A grade at AS level. I often helped my two younger cousins, both primary school age, use the computer, teaching them how to word-process and navigate the Internet. I love helping them learn new things and have played a role in their understanding of numbers, letters, colors, reading and writing. It would give me great pleasure to play a memorable role in the growth of many children. I understand that teaching is a demanding and demanding job, but I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my goal of becoming a principal. I would be thrilled if I ever achieved this goal, as I believe I have the personality, confidence, organizational skills, and ability to become an enterprising, dedicated, and well-liked principal..
