There are many aspects when looking at anti-bullying laws and pieces of legislation that have been enacted around the world. There are currently some states in the United States that have anti-bullying laws. There are advocates and campaigns launched every day to end bullying in schools. There are many aspects that are involved when trying to enact a law in a state. The essential purpose of the law, the reason why it is enacted. If the bill passes, who will benefit? Below are the statistics on bullying in the country. And finally, the potential impact a bill like this would have on schools across the nation. Bullying has received a lot of media attention lately, some states have passed laws on the subject; the purpose of this document is to see what anti-bullying legislation can do. (GROOM) According to Bradshaw, there are many forms of bullying in schools. There is the traditional insult, the verbal abuse. There is also the sudden and rapid emergence of cyberbullying in schools and children (Bradshaw, 2013, pp. 290). Bradshaw also states that the role of staff in anti-bullying prevention efforts could assist in the prevention of bullying in the school environment (Bradshaw, 2013, pp. 280). According to Smith, there is a lot of pressure on educators to maintain good behavior among their students, in school and out of school. Educators are encouraged to reinforce the school's ideas about the child, to be taken out of school (Smith, 2012, pp. 49). According to Diamantes, schools have a duty to protect their pupils, but at the same time they are not responsible for any hasty actions taken by a bully or a victim of bullying.
