Topic > Utopia America - 1026

The thought of a utopia, where everyone is exactly the same, must appeal to some in need, such as the homeless and the poor. Those people would think that their lives would improve as our society transitions. However, this is the wrong move to make and we should remain with our current, albeit imperfect, form of government. The first point I must make is the high cost we have to pay to get to such a point. America, for example, has the Constitution to ensure that liberties are preserved. The United States Constitution provides fundamental rights and freedoms that are guaranteed regardless of what might happen. However, utopian societies like Victory Cities lack a structure that we take for granted. If you are accused of a crime, before it is decided whether you are guilty or innocent, you are entitled to rights, such as the right to an attorney. While in a different form of government, such as in a utopia, it would be difficult to guarantee that we will receive the treatment we enjoy today. Would we have the right to a jury in a utopia? It's impossible to know. Would the “police” have the ultimate power to arrest the innocent and give up the rights we have? Knowing the truth would be impossible and any publication diverging from their point of view would be censored. We would not be able to express ourselves, our thoughts or the truth for fear of losing our lives. Then we wouldn't live in a utopia. We would live in a dictatorship. Even if we were willing and able to make such a monumental change, in utopia there are always people with their own opinions. How could the governance system of a utopia prevent explosions that could lead to concrete reflection? As in The Giver, they will either let them protest in public, or they will try to suppress such rebellious thinking... in the middle of paper... and they cannot be forgotten. All humans think differently and can only cooperate to compensate. We cannot feel exactly the same about all our topics; therefore, in the process of human existence, we are forced to work together, shape our ideas together, and make the best of all our ideas, not just one. All humans take things for granted and want to take the best that we as a race can make perfect. Perfection does not exist in this country, nor on Earth itself. Everything, alive or not, has flaws, no matter how deeply buried, but not a utopia, nor perfection itself. A utopia simply cannot exist because it is perfect, and our planet, our world, our universe, is not. Perfection is just a thought that exists in our imagination, and our thoughts, therefore all attempts to make it a reality, are doomed to create Oppression, Pain and Death..
