Life of Mrs. Marie The person I interviewed was Marie W, a grandmother of a friend of mine who is from Ukraine. She was born on September 15, 1930 in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev. She grew up in a relatively large family. There were four brothers and five sisters, including my friend's grandmother who lived. At the age of five he lived in a small town and there he had some elderly best friends who were also his babysitters. I really liked it, I even call it grandma and she doesn't mind. However, I knew a lot about her, but I also knew that I could always learn more. Therefore, this is why I am doing her interview because I never had the opportunity to ask her about her childhood and I knew it would be the perfect time. When he was five years old, his father, Isaac, found work in Mariupol, Ukraine, a city on the Sea of Azov. He worked as a manager to store oil in ships. This was the first time they had moved from their home to a big city. They lived right next to the Sea of Azov. Mrs. Marie W had many friends there who she played with after school. He is still in touch with their friends. Mrs Marie W is a good student and achieved well throughout school and loved reading books in her spare time. He lived in Mariupol when he was eight years old. As a child she was not afraid of anyone and used to protect the younger children and often argued with the older children. The time came when World War II began and ended his childhood. It was the time when the Nazis were trying to capture Ukraine and since they were Jews they had no way out but to escape. Shortly after their departure, the Nazi cap...... middle of paper ......d also traveled around the countries every summer. In the end, I conclude by saying that although there was a life full of difficulties we should not lose hope as my friends have overcome its difficulties. Shortly thereafter my friend was born on November 23, 1989 and her grandmother retired from work and helped her daughter take care of my friend. Mrs Marie W said the day I was born was the happiest day of her life. However, we lived in Kazakhstan until 1991. In the late 1980s Soviet Jews were finally allowed to move to Israel. Before that, they were also persecuted for attempting to leave the Soviet Union. Eventually, my friend's father found a job in the United States and they moved there in October 1991 and started their new life. I am very happy to have done this interview about her because I discovered many new things that I didn't know before.
