Classroom Management Plan Establishing a well-organized classroom management plan at the beginning of the year is essential for a calm and peaceful classroom that promotes education and learning. learning for students with a variety of academic, social and behavioral needs. Team Green created the classroom management plan below. The collaborative group agreed that assessment of the student and his or her behaviors is essential to promoting desired positive behaviors. Room layout, classroom rules, routine and transition, as well as positive reinforcement rewards/task success should be evaluated and adjusted to encourage positive behavior. Collaborative Team Assessment: Team Green determined that Johnny is a fifth grader who expresses his anger by throwing objects in class, swearing, and becoming physically and verbally violent in class. We felt it was imperative that the teacher work with the Exceptional Student Services (ESS) team, including the social worker, to determine what is best for Johnny and develop a classroom management plan for him. Room layout: The layout of the room will encourage positive behavior in the classroom. Johnny's desk will be in front of the teacher's desk. To limit physical contact with other students, the desk will be arranged in a "U" shape which will help the teacher predict and intercept any destructive behavior from Johnny when possible. The observation indicates that Johnny does not hit female students; therefore, female students will be placed in the surrounding seats. All unused items will be put away to limit distractions and the amount of materials that could be thrown during tantrums.
