In the essays we have read, there is a consistent theme that has occurred. This recurring theme is that there are people who are in power, and that their conscience has been covered by the hot iron, because their minds are controlled by their love of money, and that they have messed up the way the world works. the search for money. The first assignment we had was to watch “Story of Stuff” and then talk about it. In “Story of Stuff,” the main idea was that companies cared about one thing and one thing only, making more money, even if it meant destroying lives and destroying the planet. In the next assignment we had to read Naomi Klein's essay “No Logo”, in which she tells us that companies discovered that they could make money without making any products, instead they created something called “brands”, which were nothing more than concepts that were not it required them to make the actual products. So instead they had several companies that treated their workers with no respect, but could make products for multinationals at low costs. And in the essay “Iron Maiden” written by Jacobson and Mazur, the authors tell us how the media has created an environment where women honestly believe that only when they purchase “brands” and torture their bodies to the horrors of unnecessary surgery cosmetic surgery. And all this is because there is a group of people, whose morals are controlled by their love of money, and who compete for who can own the most things and for whom nothing can stand in their way, and all this is demonstrated by the wise men who we studied. In the first assignment we did as a class, watch the movie "The Story of Stuff", ...... middle of the paper ......ke unnecessary surgery that "can cause the immune system and death" ( Jacobson and Mazur 214). And why the media tells women this evil image of the "Iron Maiden", it is because of their love of money and the fact that their consciences have been sealed with a piece of red-hot iron, and because they have fallen in love with themselves ? lie. The lie that “if you don't own or buy many things, you don't exist” (Leonard 4). In conclusion, everything we have learned this quarter has shown the truth about the current state of consumerism. Which is a state that was created by a lie, and has grown with lies, and is a state of existence that tramples the human race with a huge iron boot every day. And I believe that this state will be transformed into a perfect state of being, a state that will not regard human beings as expendable resources, but as living, breathing people..
