Rituals are an inseparable characteristic of politics, they are used to create a reality around people, they also help us understand what is happening around us. Politics is full of symbolism, and there are many more political manifestations that include symbols and rituals than those that include hard force. The author focuses only on rituals and argues that even in current industrial societies rituals still play a vital and important role in politics. Symbols are part of rituals and people use them to bring peace and order out of chaos. It is also interesting to note that symbols are considered a natural gift and not a construct of society, they seem like something completely natural. It is symbols that give people a way to understand the world, but it is people who can alter and evolve the meaning of symbols. (Kertzer, 1988) How then do symbols influence politics? By identifying yourself or creating a symbol, it is very often easier to stay in a position of power. Symbols just like nationality can play a vital role in political processes, interventions and revolutions. Many symbols make it easier to understand concepts such as government, iron curtain, free world. Symbols should be studied in qualitative terms, since people are producers and users of symbols, and it is impossible to measure their use numerically. So how do rituals come into play? We can characterize them as analytical frameworks through which people deal with the chaos of their existence and bring it into order. Rituals are repetitive, socially standardized behaviors. Not all standardized and repetitive actions are rituals, if they lack the symbolic element they are simple habits or customs. Rituals also help connect aspects of the past, present and future, taming... paper and not very educated societies. Rituals can thrive where there is conflict and where people accept the social order. Furthermore, without rituals, symbols or rites, no nation could exist. The emotional involvement of people in rituals is very important. As in Soviet Russia, its leaders had to invent different national holidays and create a bond between themselves and the people, otherwise they knew that people would have difficulty getting used to their new symbols and ideals, and everything would collapse. . Political rituals can help us eliminate fear. People will always be influenced by emotions and will never be able to make the right judgment. The raising of the flag, the anti-fascist revolutions, the national anthem and much more are inextricable symbols of our existence. Works Cited Kertzer,D.
