These experiences have helped me think critically and opened my eyes to different opportunities in pharmacy and how to best work with patients, fellow researchers and colleagues - key attributes for a career in pharmacy. Through my various internships and volunteer experiences, I have found that interpersonal skills can play a critical role in a pharmacist's success. Furthermore, providing help and medicine to the less fortunate people in society was and continues to be the goal I hope to achieve. In this light, I improved my communication and leadership skills when I chose to volunteer at the San Francisco Nutrition and Senior Centers. As a volunteer and team leader, my job was to train and motivate volunteers to take care of the elderly's every need. I was subsequently awarded a certification of appreciation by the organization, in recognition of my efforts and contributions to the senior center. Years later, I still look back fondly on the day I received the chemistry set from my parents.
