As a seventh grader, I took a science class because it was required. At first I was afraid of how well I would do and whether I would get a good grade during the year. When the school year started, I met my teacher and he seemed really nice and turned out to be a great teacher. I excelled in seventh grade science and overcame my fear of getting low grades. My seventh grade year was the year I decided what I wanted to go to college for and that would be life sciences education. As I rose through the ranks throughout high school, I became a better student, a better athlete, and a better leader. I had the support of my family, my teachers and my friends. This helped me achieve the main goals I had set for myself. My grandparents never went to college because they had to help out on the farms where they lived and couldn't afford to go to college.
