Being a Teacher Is your life important to you? This is a statement to which anyone would answer, “yes.” As surprising as it may seem, however, an important and successful life would not even be without one essential element: teachers. Teachers, educators, trainers, mentors or babysitters, whatever their classification, are needed for many reasons. They are the foundation of our American society, they are a source of security and perhaps the parents some never had. They are the foundation of our American society, meaning they educate everyone. Attending school, whether public, private, or home-taught, is mandatory in America at a certain age. Therefore, in school you experience all the basics of life. This is a great responsibility for a teacher. So, would we have doctors, law enforcement officials, businesses, and all other everyday occupations without teachers? No, teachers educate all members of society. For some children, teachers are a source of security or rescue. When they feel like no one else listens to them or cares, or when another child insults them or laughs at them, a teacher is someone they can confide in. Parenting, in this sense, is more than giving birth to a child, feeding it, bathing it, and putting the child to bed. A parent must give the child moral values, beliefs, psychological and emotional needs, as well as physical needs such as feeding and bathing, but not all parents do this. This is w...
