People seem to change all the time, and there's always a reason why they change. Some people believe that people never change and in some cases that may be true. I think you just don't realize that someone else is changing because you're changing alone with everyone else. When people change, there could be multiple reasons why they changed, they could meet someone new, have a tragic experience in their life, or have to leave for a while and then be able to come back. There's always something. No one stays the same and karma always manages to come back. A changing person is one of the main themes of the film The Color Purple. This movie is based on the book The Color Purple by Alice Walker, and this book is something incredibly difficult to read for reasons that become clear after seeing the movie. When you watch this movie you have to accept how the world was and how creepy some people could be. There were scenes in the movie The Color Purple that really touched me and the way I thought about the movie. One of the scenes in the movie that really depicted the meaning of The Color Purple theme was when Celie was helping Sofia grocery shopping when she had just gotten out of prison. Sofia was now the maid of the mayor and his wife and that was something Sofia hoped to never do in her life. When this happens, you realize for the first time how broken Sofia had become in prison. She was so full of life, she knew exactly what she wanted; that was why she ended up in prison. Miss Mille, the mayor's wife, asked Sofia if she wanted to come work as a slave for her and Sofia's response was as simple as, "Hell no." This surprised everyone and the mayor and...... middle of paper ...... finally started living his life the way he should have been living it all this time. The Color Purple is a movie that will bring tears to your eyes and make you be grateful for what you have now and how you live today. Throughout the film there were scenes that touched me in ways that wouldn't have touched anyone else. This is a movie that allows everyone to relate to it differently and in ways that begin to help you understand life and how it works. No one will ever know what Celie went through, or what it felt like to be her, I know that you are supposed to be an incredibly strong person, mentally and physically, and that not many people today could have switched places with her and experienced. Times are changing but one thing will always remain the same: “God pisses you off when you walk through the color purple in a field and you don't notice it.”
