When asked about beauty standards, Emily says, "Women are undoubtedly held to higher standards of beauty than men." There is no doubt that women are held to higher standards than men. Women and girls are taught to always look their best and never have a hair out of place. While men still face standards, they are arguably not as extreme as those of women. Emily says, “Our society holds women and girls to unrealistic beauty standards.” Our society pushes girls at a young age to uphold a higher standard of beauty. This quote explains that girls' desire to mold themselves into the perfect image that society wants them to be is unrealistic and unattainable. As a result of these standards, many girls and women feel worthless and not good enough. This is unacceptable, girls and women should always be able to look at themselves and have confidence in what they don't see
