Topic > My rating of Zach Chernitzer - 642

I rated Zach Chernitzer. He gave his research talk on the history of the guitarists of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The topic was very interesting and the speaker had a lot to talk about. Throughout the speech the speaker had a lot of strength, he also had points that could be improved. The speaker knew what he was talking about during his speech. He was very informative and passionate about what he was talking about. The content was well organized for the most part. It has a nice timeline of the years with the different albums that have come out. The speaker could have had a better introduction and conclusion. He also could have done better in stating his in-text quotes during the speech. There was a lot of content going through, so it was difficult to pay attention all the time. His slides were very well done. They were very interesting and followed very well what he talked about every time he came by. I also liked the fact that every time he talked about a certain guitarist there was a picture along with information about the person. His choice of words went well with the content of the speech, short and sweet. The speech was almost inspiring. The quality of conversation was definitely there. You could tell that the speaker liked this band and enjoyed talking about it. He had excellent vocalization throughout the speech and excellent eye contact. He had excellent pronunciation of words, very clear. Overall, the speaker did a great job delivering his speech. The speaker had many strengths. One thing I noticed that others might not notice was his attire. The speaker was wearing an outfit that I imagined someone in a band would wear. Buttoned up, short underneath, a bit of paper in the middle... quality over bad. I have some tips for the speaker to work on his weak points. First, he should have a classmate film him giving a speech so he can see and hear his flaws. Number two, he should practice in front of many different people and also in front of the mirror before giving the speech in front of the class. Number three, he should have a buzzer and every time he takes a vocalized pause, whoever is giving the speech should sound it. Number four, it should make the speech more audience-oriented, play a game or a clip on the topic so it's not information overload. I hope the speaker takes some of these tips and applies them to his next speech. Bottom line, Zach did a great job! It had some glitches and problems during its presentation. However, the strengths were plentiful and made the talk interesting and entertaining!
