The effectiveness with which people manage their time has a major influence on aspects of their work lives and personal lives. Effective time management can have an extremely positive effect on a person, it can lead to a focused and disciplined mindset, offering a higher level of productivity, greater efficiency and an all-round positive attitude in life. This benefits the individual, their team, the company they work for and even their friends and family. An example of this is an employee who prioritizes their work at the start of the day; this gives them a structured day and ensures they have time to complete all important work. However, poor time management can lead to inefficiencies, overwork and additional pressure, which could ultimately lead to other problems such as stress.2. Time Management Strengths and Weaknesses Looking at my approach to time management I noticed that I am well organized and good at prioritizing tasks and jobs. When I log into my computer to start my shift, I am sent numerous jobs, each job is different and has different deadlines for participation and completion. I plan my day based on the date and time the jobs are due and also the locations of the jobs. I then plan the most effective order to complete jobs, placing high-priority jobs at the top of the list and grouping sites that are geographically close to each other. By planning my day effectively I maintain a focused attitude towards my work and have time to think about tasks and situations, rather than... in the middle of a sheet of paper... about the problem. This way you can talk to someone you know and trust about an issue that concerns you. Conclusion Time management is essential in the workplace and can help eliminate many other problems that could arise if time is poorly managed. By using the various time and stress management techniques available you can reduce or even eliminate stress. A person who manages their time well can benefit from an organized and manageable workload with enough time to complete important jobs and tasks. Time management can have a direct effect on a person's stress levels and it is important that stress levels are kept to a minimum to ensure optimal performance, efficiency and overall well-being.
