1.0 INTRODUCTIONOn 8 March 2014, MH370, a B777-200 aircraft, departed Kuala Lumpur for Beijing at 00:41 carrying 239 people on board, including passengers, 2 infants and flight crew, was reported missing from Malaysian Airlines (MAS). However, the flight was supposed to arrive in Beijing at 6.30am the same day; Subang air traffic control reported a loss of contact with the aircraft at 2.40am as stated by MAS. To this day, the disappearance of Flight MH370 remains one of aviation's greatest unsolved mysteries with numerous unproven theories. Since the ill-fated flight MH370 is still missing, these unproven theories are growing by the day; there is much need to evaluate the author's reasoning when reading articles about missing flight MH370. A series of questions can be asked to determine the validity of the author's claims and whether it is valid reasoning. Furthermore, regarding important issues, the process of evaluating the writer's reasoning must be approached in a systematic and skillful manner. The first question to ask is whether the reasons given are acceptable in terms of being true, valid, factual, etc. recently, in the Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Report 2014, Malaysia dropped to level 3, which is the lowest level, as it identified 650 victims of human trafficking last year, but only nine traffickers were caught and condemned; this certainly justifies the drop in the rankings. The second question to ask is whether the reasoning supports the conclusion made. For example, it was concluded that traffic jams were exceptionally heavy on the first day of Ramadan; this was caused by people rushing back to their hometown for their first “sahur” and “buka puasa” meals with their loved ones.
