The hippie lifestyle certainly has some interesting advantages and also some drawbacks. Loving nature and loving peace are certainly ethical characteristics that people nowadays have forgotten. However, looking at the disadvantages, abusive sex and drug use reflect the fact that hippies tend to be more immoralistic. People engaging in free sex means that they could change their sexual partner at any time, which means that they could easily share sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV and AIDS, which is not beneficial to either party. In contrast, the habitual way of using drugs can only cause illusions that cause the brain not to function properly. This was a misconception about drugs that hippies originally thought opened their minds. Finally, not having a home for a hippie means they will face the uncertainty of the future. Eventually, they will grow old and stop becoming hippies, they would not be able to travel much as their body weakens and becomes vulnerable to diseases. When that time comes, the hippies will have nowhere to run and spend the rest of their lives. Being an environmentalist and a pacifist is a nice thing to do, but engaging in unlimited sexual contact, as well as having insecurity in the coming days, is even more so.
