The superhero films I would like to compare are The Dark Knight and The Avengers. They are both high-grossing films that have received positive reviews from viewers. The Dark Knight is a superhero action film based on DC Comics, Batman. There are many great action scenes in the movie where the hero fights with the villains. On the other hand, The Avengers is a science fiction action film released in 2012 based on the Marvel comics, The Avengers. The film was directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner as superheroes. The differences between the two films can be compared in three aspects: the heroes, the villains and the focus of the plots. In The Dark Knight, Batman works with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent to wipe out criminal organizations in Gotham City. . At first their plans were successful, but they soon find themselves falling prey to a crazed criminal mastermind known as the Joker (The Dark Knight, 2008). The Joker then turns Gotham City into chaos, and Batman, as Gotham's silent guardian, must fight his enemies to protect the city. However, The Avengers is a film about six superheroes consisting of Ironman, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye who have their own special abilities. They must team up to defend Earth from Loki and the Chitauri army from space who plan to invade Earth. It stands to reason that there will be heroes saving lives in The Dark Knight and The Avengers since they are superhero movies. However, there are some differences between superheroes in terms of structures and work styles....... middle of paper...... Unlike the Dark Knight, the Avengers emphasize teamwork among superheroes. After realizing the global crisis caused by Loki that could create mass destruction for humanity, Nick Fury, the director of "SHIELD", immediately gathers the Avengers among the great heroes from around the world. In the beginning, team members do not work well with each other, thus causing disagreement and dissatisfaction within the team. The situation eventually improves when members begin to cooperate and tolerate each other for a greater cause. In conclusion, the Dark Knight and the Avengers have many differences in their heroes, villains, and plot focuses. However, these differences are the factors that contribute to the success of these films. If all superhero movies had the similar style, there would be no more uniqueness in the movies.
