American Hero Rosa Parks“Show me a hero and I will write you a tragedy” – J. Scott Fitzgerald. The definition of a hero is to display courage and a willingness to self-sacrifice for the greater good of all human qualities; withstand difficulties not only for themselves but for the entire audience. One of America's greatest civil rights activists, Rosa Parks lived her life as an ordinary woman until she made the courageous decision to rebel against the unconstitutional government. Going against something you believe in is something we think is easy to do, but in reality it is a difficult thing to do. Rosa Parks, known as “The Mother of Civil Rights,” is a foundation of the society we live in today. Through his courageous acts, refusing to give up his seat to a white man on a bus, buying into the fight for segregation, voting rights and standing up for what he believes in, he helped start a revolution that changed the lives of the majority of African Americans. .Rosa Parks was an African American woman born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913. She grew up in Montgomery, in the southern United States, Alabama. Alabama is one of the states with a large African American population. Her full name was Rosa Louise McCauley and her parents' names were Leona and James McCauley. Leona, Rosa's mother, was a teacher and James, her father, was a carpenter. He also had a younger brother named Sylvester. However, Rosa's parents separated when she was still young, and she, her mother, and her brother went to live on her grandparents' farm in the nearby town of Pine Level. Rosa attended the local school for African American children where her mother was a teacher.
