The online gaming community has increased dramatically over the years. The community is made up of people aged between five and forty. Within the group, teenagers who play online games are at a higher risk of becoming addicted, a detrimental problem in their daily lifestyle. Before talking about what online gaming is, it is necessary to explain why the group of teenagers is the most at risk. Teenagers are at an age when they think about going to college to pursue their career. It is crucial for them to maintain good grades to increase their chances of getting into the university they want or getting a job after graduation. Some teens may choose to go to work right after high school. Teens may turn to online games for entertainment and/or to relieve stress. Online games are played on computers and gaming systems such as Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Wii, etc. These devices allow people to connect and play with other people from places outside their area. There are many genres of online games. One type of online game can be a role-playing game in which the user creates a character. With this character the user will be able to control him and start an adventure in the online world. Another type of online game can be an action shooter game. There are two teams and each team must eliminate the other team to win the game. Whatever the type of game used, some users may develop an addiction. We start looking for signs of addiction. Kuss and Griffiths in the 2012 article, Online Gaming Addiction for Teens, suggest that excessive online gaming by teens can lead to symptoms experienced by addicts, namely salience, mo...... average of paper......a positive role in human development. People learn to fit playtime into their daily schedule without having to interrupt it with each other. This topic interests me because growing up I always had my attention on my gaming systems. My parents would buy them to keep me out of trouble. But I realize it's becoming an issue where it's too much. I limited myself and even removed attention from something productive. However, there has been research done where action role-playing games can increase concentration span, give the ability to multitask and learn. Another genre of games offers players the ability to strategize, plan, etc. The point I am referring to is that gaming can only be a problem if it interrupts our daily lifestyle. However, if it overlaps with important lifestyles such as work and relationships, it can become a problem.
