As a child, I was diagnosed with an immune deficiency, requiring quarterly visits to the local children's hospital. Although I may not have seen it at the time, I believe this is where my strong desire to work not only in pediatrics but also to specialize in oncology comes from. Fortunately, I was fortunate enough not to experience any serious repercussions from this deficiency, but the people around me in the hospital generally did not share the same luck. From elementary school to high school graduation day, I say child after child fights the good fight against cancer and their families cling to hope in a way I wish on no one. It is for this reason that I seek to join the good fight as a practicing pharmacist; I want to help children not only celebrate another birthday, but also improve their quality of life. This dream that I continue to chase is my most treasured professional goal and I can't wait for the opportunity
