Research is the systematic process of obtaining authentic answers to meaningful and relevant questions by adopting the scientific method of gathering comprehensive information. In the case of nursing research, we identify evolution in modern knowledge, advancement in education and professional growth, and efficient use of resources. This research primarily aimed to develop awareness of the possibility of extending the possible state of good health throughout an individual's life. Proposed to improve the effective response of people with disabilities towards potential real health problems. Research utilization is an analytical process of using information from research and using it effectively to evaluate whether research findings help improve health care. Typically the use of search occurs in the following three phases.1. Instrumental use: applying knowledge gained from research to change practice.2. Conceptual use which refers to the use of findings to improve understanding of a nursing problem or issue.3. Symbolic use which is the use of evidence to change the minds of other people, usually decision makers. However, evidence-based practice refers to research findings, quality improvement facts, data evaluation methods, and suggestions from practitioners to identify methods to improve the process. Typically, evidence-based practice is used to bridge the gap between conducted research and existing practice. In the research and improvement process, evidence-based practice challenges nurses to place emphasis on the “why” question behind existing methods and determines the interrelationship between nursing research and practice. This level of importance for evidence-based and research-based quality care translates to increased attention in all areas of healthcare. Although various explanations about quantitative research are proposed, however (Aliaga, 2002) describes it as “explaining a phenomenon by collecting quantitative data” (numerical) data analyzed using mathematical methods such as statistics. There is a common misconception that quantitative data does not require any data input as data is naturally available in quantitative form. However, non-quantitative data (such as people's beliefs and/or attitudes) can be converted into quantitative form using measurement tools and rating scales such as Likert scales etc. According to (Vogelgesang, 2000) and Astin, the quantitative study selected for study is “Comparison of the effects of community service and service-learning”. Astin has conducted numerous studies on different facts of higher education. In this particular study they specifically focused on service in higher education. On the positive side, these researchers provided an outside perspective and did not interact with the subjects studied.
