The initial component of the QF5000 module involved collaborative work with our colleagues culminating in an exhibition demonstrating our understanding of historical perspectives in the early years. The following essay will discuss my individual reflection on this process on both a personal and professional level. To start the Module we had to create our teams. Since we had worked together before, we chose to work with the same group of me, CG and HW. (Initials are used for confidentiality reasons) Throughout this experience I found that effective teamwork improved our results as topics could be approached from different angles. (Cited in Basquill, 2012, p236) By reflecting on the QF5000 Module I have improved my ability to work collaboratively, recognized my management style, made changes to both my practice and my environment and contributed to ongoing professional development of my colleagues. I have learned that my strengths are organization and leadership and that public speaking is an area I would like to improve. My ability to reflect has facilitated change which will ultimately improve my practice as an early years practitioner.
